Actos is produced by Takeda Industries and co-marketed by Eli Lilly.

Eli Lilly Zyprexa can *cause* diabetes.

I took Zyprexa a powerful Lilly schizophrenic drug for 4 years it was prescribed to me off-label for post traumatic stress disorder was ineffective costly and gave me diabetes.
Eli Lilly's #1 cash cow Zyprexa drug sale $40 billion dollars so far,has a ten times greater risk of causing type 2 diabetes over the non-user of Zyprexa. So,here we have a conflict of interest that this same company Eli Lilly also is a big profiteer of diabetes treatment.

(Actos works as an insulin *sensitizer*)
Sooooo,Eli Lilly pushes a drug (Zyprexa) that can cause diabetes.... then turn around sell you the drugs (Actos) to treat the diabetes that in turn can cause cancer!
What a terrible conflict of interest!

Justin and Dale Ladd both stepped up in their own ways to honor the memory and wishes of their Aunt, Teresa Ladd Ashley. Justin had a pedicure done at The Cosmetology School of Design in Jonesboro, Arkansas (where his wife Amy is a cosmetology student) and Dr. Dale Ladd had his done at his Optometric Office in Batesville, Arkansas. Both of my boys loved their Aunt T so much and wanted to carry on her wish that the Teal Ribbon and the color Teal become as recognized as the Pink Ribbon is for Breast Cancer. She wanted others to recognize the symptons of Ovarian Cancer and catch them earlier than she did. Teresa passed away on January 12, 2010 after battling her disease beginning in June of 2005. Her memory lives on in her family and her many friends.

Republicans passed the BIGGEST HEALTH CARE Bill since Medicare:
But 400 BILLION to 1 TRILLION on unconstitutional health care is ok?
Prescription Drug Benefit.
The final version (conference report) of H.R. 1 would create a prescription drug benefit for Medicare recipients. Beginning in 2006, prescription coverage would be available to seniors through private insurers for a monthly premium estimated at $35. There would be a $250 annual deductible, then 75 percent of drug costs up to $2,250 would be reimbursed. Drug costs greater than $2,250 would not be covered until out-of pocket expenses exceeded $3,600, after which 95 percent of drug costs would be reimbursed. Low-income recipients would receive more subsidies than other seniors by paying lower premiums, having smaller deductibles, and making lower co-payments for each prescription. The total cost of the new prescription drug benefit would be limited to the $400 billion that Congress had budgeted earlier this year for the first 10 years of this new entitlement program. The House adopted the conference report on H.R. 1 on November 22, 2003 by a vote of 220 to 215 (Roll Call 669).
Marsha Blackburn Voted FOR this bill.

Weight control is the prevention for such a scenario. Disciplined life style with proper diet that constitutes no visceral fat is the right way to live life. Thus a vegan diet is the most ideal diet for human race.

I agree they probably should regulate the age requirement to tan. I'm not sure that it will do any good though, as teens will just hit the beaches and the pools. At least they will not be able to abuse the tanning beds - they don't do it moderately is the big problem.

I have read quiet a lot about Vitamin D supplements and that it is scarce component in the natural diet in daily life. However as mentioned it would be relieving enough if the studies confirmed something reliable. Thanks for the mention.

I agree with Cobra, if you are able to afford it, get Kiaser if it's available where you live. As an HMO, it covers everything. I grew up with it and had to change back to kiaser from another HMO and the coverage and efficiency is MUCH better. It took me less than 24 hours to see a specialist this week. My nephew who is in medical school says that the competition to get a job with kiaser among new grads is intense. When I was growing up, it was not so great. Now all the insurers are not so great. If you can't afford kiaser, or it isn't available where you are, then go to a broker and compare your options.

It is usual that health insurance that is not obtained from an employer does not cover maternity.

Some health insurance obtained from an employer covers maternity.
Some health insurance obtained from an employer does not cover maternity.

No health insurance is available to self-employed individuals under 65 nationwide. You should try to get whatever is available where you live. If you pick any other health insurance, you will have to move to where it is available.

If you want to know what you can get where you live now, post this question again with the name of your state. You need different insurance in each state. I do not have time to list 50 different insurance companies.

Look for an insurance that would cover your hospitalization, laboratory exams, even physicians visits. There are a lot of insurance company that has a very limited coverage. If it's possible to get a premium one the go get them. You can ask someone or agents from an insurance so you could decide what plan to choose.

Since the health reform act, insurance companies have pretty much stopped selling maternity coverage. When you CAN buy it, it's about $300 a month extra, and most of the time you have to purchase it a full year becoming pregnant, for it to cover. So yes, it's normal for maternity to NOT be covered, under an individual policy.

You're not going to get the same kind of coverage that you would through an employer. On an individual policy, they can exclude coverage for stuff already wrong. If you ARE currently pregnant, you're uninsurable on an individual plan until after the baby is born (just sayin', because 95% of the women who mention interest in maternity coverage here, are ALREADY pregnant).

For good advice that's valid in YOUR area, you should talk to a local agent near you. They'll know what state you are in, and which deals are best - and they can help you balance coverage and cost to find what you can afford, and they'll EXPLAIN how it all works. You won't get that from an online website.

The Passage of the Comprehensive HEALTHCARE REFORM LAW, which by the way, is a major Achievement by President Obama's Presidency, and a Historic moment for the American people.

We can not continue, to borrow Money from other Nations, to CONTINUE TO FINANCE our unsustainable Healthcare spending.

I believe, our only viable Option is, to used HIT Solutions and appropriate Training, to Improved Outcomes and Reduced our National Healthcare spending. If we, properly Deployed HIT Solutions and Training, we can increased Productivity (i, e, medical data mining/warehousing, risks treatment, service delivery), Efficiency (i, e, medical errors, redundant and inappropriate care), and still have a Cost Savings of around 20-30% of our Annual National Healthcare Expenditures (2009, $2.5 trillion).

The 20% does NOT automatically get deducted from the paycheck!!!!

You will probably have a co-pay that is due at the time of service. You will then be billed for the 20% not covered by your health insurance.

i think your employer pays 80% meaning the 20% left is deducted out of your paycheck on a monthly basis . all you have to pay is a co-payment at your doctors for visit it's around 30 to 50 dollers per visit surgery might be $100
the er is another $100 per visit not bad eh with insurance medicine can be free or any where from 10 to 30 dollars not bad either any way thats how it use to work for me when i worked at this factory im pretty sure thats how it works for you to ask your employer. to make sure by the way the prices are from kaiser permanente

depends on the type of policy u have.
If its cashless, u neednot hvae to pay anything there and then.
If not, u will have to pay the entire amount there and then and later Insurance company will reimburse u the claim amount which may be any percentage of the expense depending on the type of policy, amount covered by the policy i.e sum assured etc.

Always go for a cash less policy.
